Who is it?

Meet Leeds-based post-punk four-piece POST WAR GLAMOUR GIRLS which – despite their great name – managed to fly off our radar so far despite having released two albums back in 2014 and 2015. Pollyanna Cowgirl is taken off the group’s third full-length called Swan Songs. The LP itself was recorded in two weeks of isolation from the outside world or as leading man James Smith describes it: ‘No distractions from our day to day lives. No dashing mid-take to get to work on time. No phone calls from our landlords. No other commitments. Just two solid weeks of living it.’ And they made it out alive.

Why should you listen to it?

Pollyanna Cowgirl is purest and rawest post-punk bliss with all the sharp urgency you’ve come to love from the big classics like JOY DIVISION up to more contemporary ones like PREOUCCUPATIONS. POST WAR GLAMOUR GIRLS deliver cinematic darkness and desperation while also giving their latest single a lovely hook that is not as easy to write as you might think.

What’s next?

Today also just happens to be the official release day for the band’s new album Swan Songs, you we highly advice you to give it a sping in case the following track leaves you thirsty for more.
