Rhye premiere new song ‘Waste’ during live show

Rhye

Mysterious neo soul duo RHYE delivered one of NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s favourite albums in 2013 with their stunning debut Woman. Since then singer Mike MILOSH released a solo record and him and his musical partner Robin Hannibal played various live shows all over the world. RHYE are currently back on the road and during their show in Califonia last night they also premiered a brand new track called Waste. No official word yet if this marks the first step of the journey towards a potential second album but it definitely gets us exciting. Check out our interview with Hannibal from two years ago and watch an audience recording of the new song below.

Legendary American indie rock group MERCURY REV reports back with The Light In You, their first full-length studio album since 2008. It will be released via Bella Union on the 18th of September, featuring eleven new songs by the band around frontman Jonathan Donahue. Speaking of the long break between releases the mastermind states in a press release: ‘It was one of those otherworldly life sequences, when everything you think is solid turns molten. But also, when something is worth saying, it can take a long time to say it, rather than just blurt it out.’ You can already listen to the album opener The Queen Of Swans right here.

Earlier this year NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION also talked with Vasquez about the idea THE SOFT MOON. Watch the new clip right here.

Australian shootingstar CHET FAKER teases his forthcoming festival appearances by releasing a brand new track. Bend is a song recorded during the same time like his successful debut Built On Glass. The artist on the track’s history: ‘Bend’ was on Built on Glass until the last minute. I recorded it in 2013 and kinda wanted to put it out since. It’s always felt like a part of Built on Glass and since [the upcoming Australian] tour is the sort of live ‘director’s cut’ of the album it made sense to release this before it lost context.’ Listen to it right here.
