Post punk darlings PREOCCUPATIONS (aka former VIET CONG) have shared an epic music video for Memory, the 11-minute long standout song on their self-titled ‘debut’ this year. The record just managed to score Number 17 in NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s ‘end of the year’ list. The clip for Memory was directed by award-winning director Kevan Funk.

As the song is based on the theme of somebody losing his mind, the video supports the idea and features Michael Wallace from PREOCCUPATIONS as somebody who slowly forgets where reality ends and his own imagination begings. The director about the video:

‘I don’t mean to sound dark, but there’s something poetic about a fire burning inside someone so intensely that one day, it actually physically manifested. You ask yourself, how much pain can we take? How much control do we have?’

Just like the music itself, this video is an intense ride into the mad and ugly world of one of 2016’s most outstanding bands. If you don’t believe us yet please experience the entire clip below.
