Russian feminist punk rock protest group PUSSY RIOT are taking a stand. This time for the refugees coming to Europe. To raise awareness, the protest group have decided to release a few rather disturbing videos all through next year and ‘hoping you won’t like them’. One of them is Refugees In. The video was shot in graffiti artist Banksy’s Dismaland back in September. It depicts PUSSY RIOT performing their song in a cage while police and protesters clash around them.
To explain their video, the group stated:
‘We should accept and save those who flee countries occupied by terrorists. The time of grief for the dead should not become a time in which we betray the belief of millions in the humanity of the European world.’
PUSSY RIOT have also co-founded Refugee Response Foundation, along with the art-group The Connor Brothers, to help the refugees in Calais and are hoping that their actions really get Europe to get involved and not turn away.
