Danish electropop duo RANGLEKLODS is in the mood for a fresh start and announced that they will change their name to BLONDAGE. The change follows an ongoing evolution of the band which once started as a solo project by Esben Nørskov Andersen before Pernille Smith-Sivertsen joined him prior to the release of last year’s quite satisfying second LP Straitjacket. The band explains the new name in the following statement:

We’ve released records with Rangleklods that we’re extremely proud of. But we need a new beginning for us to keep evolving. We’re changing our name to Blondage, and our main focus is to make edgy electronic pop tunes. The name Blondage is a contraction of ‘blond’ and ‘bondage’ and to us it combines naivety and daydreaming with aggression and sensuality. It has given us an empty canvas and a greater creative energy than we’ve ever had’.

A first single under the alias BLONDAGE arrives on April the 8. It’s called Dive and arrives via Believe/ Tambourhinoceros. You can get a glimpse of the new sound in the form of the following announcement video.
