This February we introduced you to the dreamy sound of Cologne-based newcomer LUNAS who wrote and produced most of his first EP Dive while he spent a year travelling through Australia and Indonesia. His chillwave and dream pop tunes which include the EP’s lead single Mavericks echo the young producer’s search for outstanding and catchy melodies that nonetheless form a coherent listening experience. Now, a new journey seems to begin for the talented 20-year old. Only recently, Lunas applied for a live appearance at the legendary MELT! Festival which takes place in Gräfenhainchen from July 15 to 17. The application makes sense as the MELT! is known for a diverse line up that features passionate electronic music as well as sophisticated and catchy indie-pop.
In order to celebrate LUNAS‘ nomination a brand new track Leave Me Now will exclusively being streamed via NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. The artist on his new song:
‘Leave Me Now was written in Sydney in early January of 2015. I tried to produce a track that combines tropical percussions and elements of deep house with a touch of soul. It didn’t fit the mood of Dive but it’s all the more perfect for celebrating my nomination to play at Melt!
In the meantime, Mauelshagen has completed his live set and hopes to perform with additional live members soon. Also, new songs are currently in the works.
