New Order premiere first new song in almost ten years

The new track goes by the name 'Drop The Guitar' and is the first new recorded material since 2005.

Looks like the wait is over for all fans of wave/pop legends NEW ORDER. Yesterday the band played a brand new song during their show at Lollapalooza in Chile. According to CoS the new piece is entitled Drop The Guitar and it actually marks the first new full length material in nine years. The last more or less fresh music we got from the group was Lost Sirens, an EP featuring left-over material from 2005’s Waiting For The Sirens’ Call.

In the past NEW ORDER already hinted on the possibility of recording a new album or at least a series of EPs. The new material would be the first without bassist Peter Hook who left the band in 2007. You can watch fan footage of the song’s performance below but don’t expect the best quality yet.
