THE LEGENDS is the musical baby of Johan Angergård, who has taken the band through several stylistic shifts in their history. On their new album, It’s Love, Angergård is trying out a new, intimate and more vulnerable sound. The first example of this new approach is first single Keep Him.
Musically, Keep Him is a piece of sleek chillwave, light and airy and topped off by little guitar touches. The relaxed groove of the musical base does not, however, lessen the emotional heft in Angergård’s delicate vocal. It hints at an internal tension and hesitant nervousness- “I hear the words you say, why am I so afraid?”. It’s Love by THE LEGENDS is out on Cascine on June 30th.
