Modern society is forcing us to more or less wear a mask on a daily basis, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. Berlin-based songwriter Dino Joubert picked that notion as a theme for his new music video Do You? which we are debuting today on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. If you happen to be a fan of the reduced and playful folk sounds of artists like Elliott Smith, Damien Rice and the legendary Nick Drake you might easily fall for the vibe of the young man who is not just a solo artist but also records and performs his music with a band that is entirely incorporated in this moniker.
The video was shot at the backstage-room of the famous Berlin music-club Lido and features a young woman taking of the make-up once she’s facing herself in the mirror. Dino Joubert on the clip:
‘The video is about taking off the mask at the end of the day, reflecting about your real self for a while.’
