Michael Mayer - Mantasy Remixe 3

MICHAEL MAYERMantasy Remixe 3

1. Mantasy (Jürgen Paape feat. Mounya Rezzoug Remix)
2. Lamusetwa (Matias Aguayo Mix)
3. Roses (Terranova Mix)
3. Baumhaus (Jörg Burger feat. Sidonie Mix)

It’s not an overstatement to say that MICHAEL MAYER is one of the leading figures of Germany’s techno and house scene and the main ambassador of the legendary Kompakt sound: Deejaying the world over since two decades, remixing club greats just as celebrities like PET SHOP BOYS, DEPECHE MODE, MISS KITTIN and FOALS, and producing his own music on the one hand, and – as a co-founder and co-owner of Cologne based Kompakt label – deciding what will be released on the label and overseeing Kompakt’s distribution wing (the home of over 50 record labels) on the other hand, he has reached influence and reputation that few have been able to accomplish.

Now MICHAEL MAYER completes the remix series to his latest album, Mantasy, with reworks from classy disco-pop duo TERRANOVA, Kompakt’s secret weapon JÜRGEN PAAPE, label veteran JÖRG ‘The Modernist’ BURGER and the highly gifted MATIAS AGUAYO who will release his third album, The Visitor, the follow-up to his acclaimed LP Ay Ay Ay, on the 21st of June.

After the release of the LP Mantasy which includes some brilliant contemporary tech-house and disco tracks like the dreamy yet brawny-armed Italo throb of the album’s title track and the blower-driven shuffle of Rudi Was A Punk there already were two fantastic remix EPs with highlights in PHILIPP GORBACHEV’s rugged version of Voigt Kampff Test, ROBAG WRUHME‘s characteristic curvaceous treatment of Baumhaus and the hollowed rework of Mantasy by WILL SAUL & OCTOBER.

Part 3 of the remix series starts up with JÜRGEN PAAPE’s smart and fleecy house version of the title track, containing some suitable vocals from Mounya Rezzoug, slides into the nocturnal atmosphere of MATIAS AGUAYO‘s hazy “Bossa Novocaina” edition of Lamusetwa, and slips away on TERRANOVA‘s softened and reverbed mix of Roses, before JÖRG BURGER’s dubby version of Baumhaus lures you into sunnier climes with SIDONIE’s seductive voice. Altogether undoubtedly a worthy completion for an inventive album.
