Tool 300x200 New album from TOOL likely to be released in 2013The already promising musical year of 2013 might even get better as it looks quite good that influential progressive metal legends TOOL will release their first new material in seven years. We haven’t heard much from the group since their 2006 record 10.000 Days although it was no big secret that TOOL are recording new songs. In the upcoming February issue of the Rhythm magazine, drummer Danny Carey gets a bit more precise as he says: “We have six or seven really good frameworks that we’re working on. We’re over half way in my opinion. The first tune is always hard to get polished off. It seems like on every record we have this big, epic thing like ‘Rosetta’, ‘Wings for Marie’ or ‘Lateralus’. That’s the one we’re focusing on now. Once we knock out that, the other songs fall into place around it. We’re right on the fringe of knocking that big one out. We’re all excited and it seems to have progressed really well.” At the moment it also looks like singer Maynard James Keenan isn’t involved yet in the production process as the rest of TOOL wants to focus on the music first. They are already confirmed for Ozzfest in Japan in May and it looks promising that we will seet more of them in the second half of 2013.
