It’s one of the most speculated about topics in the music business – the whereabout of french electronic giants DAFT PUNK. It’s been eight years now since their last longplayer Human After All and the only thing we’ve heard from the two french robots since then was their score for the sci-fi blockbuster Tron: Legacy. And there are always a lot of fumours around them so NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION wants to take the opportunity to give you a little update. It is confirmed that they are recording new material, some has been produced with legendary disco producer Nile Rodgers last year and he recently confirmed that these tracks will see the light of day within the next months. So although DAFT PUNK might return with a new record, it is unlikely for us to see them live this year although there has been contrary rumours. Rob da Bank – organizer of the British Bestival open air – recently said in an interview: “We got told months ago that DAFT PUNK were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumor miss going.” Well, we at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION cross fingers that maybe some of these rumours are true.
