Grouper The Man Who Died In The Boat 300x300 Grouper announces new record The Man Who Died In The BoatPortland based drone/folk artist Liz Harris has announced details of a new album by her criticly acclaimed project GROUPER. The Man Who Died In The Boat will be released via Kranky on the 4th of February 2013. It features material that was produced around the same time as Harris’ milestone album Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill from 2008. This one will also get a re-release on the same day. The title of the new record refers to a certain event in Harris’ past when she once encountered “the wreckage of a sailboat washed up on the shore of Agate Beach” in Oregon. With her fragile and siren-linke voice, her pure acoustic guitar and the wide space her sound creates the musical experience of GROUPER is clearly a unique one. Listen to the album’s title track already today.
