The year 2013 began with a lot of change for icelandic sound masterminds SIGUR RÓS. The first is a personal one as founding member Kjartan Sveinsson has left the band in good after 15 years. “He said he spent half his life in the band and it was time to do something different” explained the band in an online chat earlier this evening. Sveinsson was already replaced on recent tour dates as he wanted to take some time out. The other three members keep marching on and allthough they’ve just released a new album last year and they are heading for a big world tour, they already worked on their seventh album and hint a release before the year ends. SIGUR RÓS already share a first clip of music from it – some of you migth remeber the song Brennisteinn from a performance last year NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION reported about. Looks like SIGUR RÓS heading to a more heavier sound than 2012′s Valtari. We’ll stay excited and enjoy the little teaser right here.
