A while ago the legendary industrial band THROBBING GRISTLE got back together in the form of X-TG. After the death of bandmember Peter Christopherson the remaining avant-gard musicians decided to leave the name of their band behind. However they’ve just released an ambitious album project with two records at once – Desertshore and The Final Report. The first one is a sort ‘re-imagined’ cover version of NICO’s seminal 1970 album and it was initiated by Christopherson, the second one marks the last recording sessions of the band. The remaining THROBBING GRISTLE members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti saw it as their duty to complete these projects – although with the help of great guest vocalists like Blixa Bargeld or Antoy Hegarty. The opening track of Desertshore, the stunning Janitor Of Lunacy, is one of the most beautiful tracks we at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION heard in ages. So get ready to let yourself soak into this unique and dark world.
