There are only a few musical acts who we at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION had the pleasure to constantly enjoy live throughout the past twelve months as danish electronica band RANGLEKLODS. Wherever we’ve been it looks like they’ve been there too – may it be the MS DOCKVILLE FESTIVAL, REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL or just recently the EUROSONIC NOORDERSLAG in Groningen. The project of Esben Andersen was quite a lot on the road in 2012 and we must say we enjoyed each and every moment of these shows. The intansity of the slow grooving synthie-pop tunes in combination with Andersen’s stunning voice clearly marked a highlight at every event.
Without any doubt, the last year has been a really good one for Andersen and his debut album Beekeeper. And as long-time followers of this project it makes us even happier that RANGLEKLODS contributed their very own exclusive guestmix for NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. But don’t just take our words for it, here is what the musician himself has to say about his song selection:
“Hi guys, Esben here. This is a mixtape of some of the jams we love to listen and/or move around to during the weekend in what has proven to be quite a cold winter. A lot happened for us in 2012. We quietly and very naturally moved away from being my solo project to become more of a band kind of thing. Today RANGLEKLODS is a duo consisting of me and Pernille. She has always been a big part of RANGLEKLODS – my second pair of ears I call her – but by chance she became a bigger and bigger part of the whole thing. ‘Clouds’ was the first song we wrote in complete cooperation. And it just seemed right to do it more like that from now on. We’re working on new material right now and we are very psyched about it. We hope to release something very soon, but how and when we’ll keep to ourselves just a little while longer. Finally, we’re going to tour a lot in 2013 throughout most of Europe. Have a good year people! We know we will. -R”
