It was probably one of the most iconic duets of the past decades – Where The Wild Roses Grow by NICK CAVE and KYLIE MINOGUE. Back in 1995 it was kind of surprise that the dark wave pop guru recorded a track together with bubblegum pop starlet KYLIE MINOGUE for his longplayer Murder Ballads. But the result was quite impressive and helped both artists – CAVE gained a wider audience and MINOGUE emancipated herself as a more serious artist. Now, the Australian pop singer is about to release a new longplayer entitled Abbey Road Sessions on which she revisits her hits of the past 25 years and rearranged them with an orchestra. And there is a fantastic new, very reduced, version of this old classic on it. Stream it here via Pitchfork and remember the brillance of this track – also in comparison to the original.
