After the summer festival season is before the summer festival season? Well, if you think about that in a conventional way, it might be true. But – actually – why stopping when there are more ways to experience a lot of different bands? Ways beyond the typical camping in the mud or a standard rockshow in a large hall with bad sound and a lot of annoying people. It’s the simple conviction that venues do actually matter which marks the credo of the NEW FALL FESTIVAL that’s about to happen in Düsseldorf between October 3rd and 7th. The event brings high quality music from various genres via high quality locations. It’s that simple and that beautiful. One reason why the first installment 2011 was quite a success and why the upcoming second one will do also fine – for that we are sure.

A combination of modern and classical aspects is important but not necessary for the groups that appear in this line-up. And what fine line-up the NEW FALL FESTIVAL got this time. From German indie legends THE NOTWIST and – well, we might already call them legends – GET WELL SOON. But also great new acts like STABIL ELITE. And some international favorites of NBHAP like THE BLACK ATLANTIC or folk singer DEAR READER. The full line-up with all the dates goes as follows:

03.10. – THE NOTWIST / EWERT AND THE TWO DRAGONS
04.10. – GET WELL SOON / DEAR READER
04.10. – ALVA NOTO / RYUICHI SAKAMOTO
05.10. – STEALING SHEEP / WHY?
06.10. – CALIGOLA / RUDI ZYGADLO
06.10. – DILLON / STABIL ELITE
07.10. – TINDERSTICKS / THE BLACK ATLANTIC

So, it’s four bands at each night. Two are playing at the wonderful Robert-Schumann-Saal in the Museum Kunstpalast, the other two at the Tonhalle. Tough choices to make, this is clear but the quality of the line-up speaks for itself, if you ask us. So if you prefer a good glass of red wine and beautiful orchestrated songs over expensive beer in paper cups and sweaty mosh pits, then the NEW FALL FESTIVAL is definitely the place to be in the next days.
