Foundling Invite You To A Fragile Dance On ‘New Years’

Beloved Canadian singer/songwriter Erin Lang returns with a haunting first piece of music from her new band. That’s the sort of sound to guide you through a cold winter day.

Canadian singer/songwriter Erin Lang first showed up on our radar about three years ago when her project Feral & Stray delivered a truly mesmerizing album with Between You And The Sea. That project however is history as today sees a first teaser of the album by her new band Foundling. Similar in its melancholic character the new music marks a defining step forward into the future and the new single New Years is the wonderful proof for that.

For the video Foundling have collaborated with Canadian modern experimental dancers/choreographers Emilie Morin and Danielle Denichaud to create ‘a broken mirror dreamscape’ in this hypnotic clip. It was directed and shot by Amsterdam-based Robin Lang whose close-up handheld camera work in combination with certain speed variation helps to create an artistic and intimate tension that works surprisingly well in combination with the floating sound of the character.

A first album by the new band goes by the name Fault Lines and is set for a release in 2018 and you can count on us for keeping you informed about it. In the meantime, please enjoy the world premiere of New Years right here.
