One of the many great albums we somehow missed due to our extended summer break includes the fourth solo effort by restless British songwriter Will Samson. Welcome Oxygen is out now via Talitres, showcasing a more organic and less electronic side of the artist’s creative side. What remains is the tender and dreamy notion and how can you make that even stronger? Right, by asking legendary Jimmy LaValle from The Album Leaf to produce a remix. And that is quite a thing for Mr. Samson as he explains to us.
‘Having been a big fan of The Album Leaf for so many years, it was an honour to tour with them last year. Now, to be able to present a remix from Jimmy LaValle (also featured trumpet from Brad Lee of the band) is a dream.’
