British band Bombay Bicycle Club has always been too adventurous and creative to be simply labled ‘another British indie band’ and that’s just one reason why they were truly missed in the past five years. But now, the wait and hiatus are both over – the boys are back in town with their first proper LP since 2014’s Mercury Prize-nominated So Long, See You Tomorrow. The comeback album – if you’d like to call it this way – arrives on January 1 7 via Caroline International and goes by the name Everything Else Has Gone Wrong. It was produced with the help of Grammy-winning John Congleton (St. Vincent / Sharon van Etten) and according to leading man Jack Steadman we can expect mighty things on it – because the theme of the album is an existential one:

„This is an album for anyone who’s ever turned to music in a time of need. It’s about the solace once can get from listening to music or playing music. For me personally it’s about the frustration of not being able to express myself to others, of leaving conversations feeling dissatisfied and misunderstood but relying on music to communicate.”

And judging from the first single Bombay Bicycle Club are doing a great job in reminding us about music’s stunning power. Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You) is a huge anthem and a pretty impressive return, we must say. Directed by their old touring member Louis Bhose (who is now one of the UK’s finest directors for great music videos) the epic music video really underlines that. It’s a song that feels a bit different but on the other hand slightly familiar – needless to say, we’re happy to welcome the gentlemen back.
