ANDERS TRENTEMØLLER is one of the masters of electronic music, at least when it comes to dark and melancholic tunes. With his latest album Lost he finally took really off and even got the chance to support legendary DEPECHE MODE at some of their shows. A knightly accolade for the humble Danish guy. Now he is touring a lot and NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION wanted to find out what TRENTEMØLLER and his band mates listen to when they are on tour.

When we go on tour that means a lot of time to kill in the tour bus driving from city to city. So it’s perfect for hearing and sharing music band members and crew altogether.
It’s actually the place where we get to present a lot of new and old music we did not all knew of before . I love the relaxed listening sessions in the bus where each member is playing his or hers favourite music right now.
Or the music we play after a show, when we all are a bit drunk and still high on the concert, often it also involves dancing in the tour bus actually.

We are all quite happy about Beak. Love the clear Krautrock inspirations..
It’s all hand played which gives it all such a nice feel. And then it’s great to listen to while the landscapes are changing outside the window…

Playing in TRENTEMØLLER‘s tour bus: MONICA ZETTERLUND – Visa från Utanmyra

We are all in the band very fond of jazz, and we often listen to Coltrane (our drummer is  also a well respected jazz drummer and he always sneaks in some cool jazz) and lately Monica Zetterlund was also often in the speakers. Love her voice, she was a big star!!

I really dig this old BLUR song that our guitarist, Jeppe, played for me. It’s so rough and extremely cool, and maybe not so well known, quite far away from the ‘Parklife’ sound and vibe. Love the piched and looped overdriven bas and the slow breakbeat on top of it, and then Damon’s voice all upfront. Yeah!!

Another classic that always finds it’s way when we are drunk and the bus at night  sets off to the next city is good old THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN. I think we are all in the band and crew fan of that band.

Bands like Moon Duo, Gnod, White Hills, Tame Impala are also often on the stereo in the bus, it’s great music to drive to, especially this track with Gnod and White Hills together. It has been playing a lot and one of those tracks that just can go on and on, it’s quite hypnotic…

Playing in TRENTEMØLLER‘s tour bus: SOFT MOON – Breathe The Fire

Soft Moon is another favorite of me and the rest of the band. We have seen them live and they f… rocks!!!
I’m a huge fan of The Cure, and Soft Moon has defenately listened to some early Cure and Joy Division stuff, but still he got his own take on it… it’s not retro… sounds pretty fresh!!
This track  nearly killed the speakers in the bus once (-: But hey, it sounds great when you play it really loud!! (don’t know if our driver thinks the same though…)

Mazzy Star is a band that we also adore in the band!!! I personal never get tired of Hope Sandovals voice, and I know Marie Fisker has listened a lot to Mazzy too.
This is a great track for those mornings with hangovers , where you maybe don’t feel the urge to be super social but just like to be in your own space a bit…
