Back in January British indie rock veterans BLOC PARTY released their fifth album Hymns, the first one with a brand new band line-up. The surprisingly soulful and electronic-sounding record received mixed feelings by longtime fans of the bands. Those of you who might have have been disappointed by it should embrace the band’s brand new single called Stunt Queen which clearly embraces the early BLOC PARTY spirit.
Earlier this year, leading man Kele Okereke also spoke with NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION and explained the reasons why the group parted ways with its rhythm section in order to carry on. Back then Okereke already hinted on a quick follow-up to Hymns.
The accompanying music video shows the band having way too much fun on their recent US tour, including a show at Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival. According to the unstaged feel-good vibes in this video we’re pretty convinced that ‘BLOC PARTY 2.0.’ is here to stay for a bit longer.
