Following the already confirmed reunions of THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, SLOWDIVE and RIDE the next band to stand in line for a comeback in 2017 could be ELASTICA. The legendary female lead figures of the Britpop apparently went to the legendary Abbey Road Studios to record new music. Sean Magee, Mastering Engineer at the studios broke the news via Twitter as he revealed he’d ‘cut a record’ for the band.
A new LP would be the first once since 2000’s The Menace and the following split one year later. A first photo below documents that the group is back together, you can find more photos on their fanpage.
UPDATE 25/01/17: Well, athough our hopes were high, the reality is a bit less euphoric. As Sean Magee now made clear ELASTICA aren’t actually reforming. Yes, they were in the studio together but only to attending the cut of a forthcoming reissue. So, nothing for now but never say never, right?
I never said Elastica had reformed. I was cutting a reissue and they attended the cut. Typically the online press have assumed more
