Stockholm sextet Brödet weird up the dancefloor on their debut EP.

Stockholm six-piece BRÖDET have kept a low profile up to this point, generally shunning photographs and listing their names on their Facebook page as ‘Phantom Lord, Sgt. Rush, City Dental, The baptizer, Oxyaction & Optimus Prime’. But, because we here at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION are ace detectives, capable of expert acts of sleuthing like reading press releases, we can exclusively (sort of) reveal that BRÖDET consists of founding members Carl Christian Holmberg and Stella Cartriers, who were later joined by Jonas Thunberg, Otto Reimers, Maximilian Wiking Kern and Erik Holmberg. And we bring you not only this info, but also the premiere of their debut EP, Mammon.

Mammon is an EP full of densely-layered warped dance music, the kind of music made for clubs with low ceilings and walking home under streetlights. The band says:

‘With this EP and accompanying video, we wanted to show how good it feels not to be yourself. We called it Mammon because there’s always a lot of talk about money and we never have any.’

You can check out the video for Mimesis, directed by Andreas Brink Pedersen over here, and listen to the excellent EP below. Mammon is released on October 12th on Malmö label Naiv Recordings. And for any of you that are based in Stockholm, the band launch the EP at Cantina Real on October 30th
