Daily Tune: Dream bright with Analog Candle’s hypnotic ‘Trier’

Avantgarde dreampop from New York troupe.

by

Who is it?

New York troupe ANALOG CANDLE, a group formed by Callum Plews. The band started six years ago when Plews, uncomfortable with the idea of himself as a solo artist, put together a group to play the songs he was writing. The current incarnation took shape after Plews’ move to New York, a move that provided the source material for their upcoming EP Winter ’15, from which their single Trier is taken.

Why should you listen to it?

Trier is dream-pop submerged in the avant-garde, a constantly moving piece of interlocking instruments that create a smooth, flowing synth song, given a solid shape by Emma Tringali and Kim Schulke’s vocals. It’s a song with a graceful kind of charm, a pretty song that pulls the listener into its floating world.

What’s next?

The Winter ’15 EP is released on February 3rd.

Everyday we’re adding NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s Daily Tune to our ongoing Spotify playlist, packed with all the hidden treasures by those talented newcomers you need to know. Listen and follow right here.
