The music for the ‘Koi No Yokan’ is already done, it seems.

Deftones 2012

It’s been a few years since we last heard news on a new DEFTONES album. But now it looks like the anticipated follow-up to 2012’s Koi No Yokan is pretty close as drummer Abe Cunningham and keyboardist Frank Delgado told The Morning Blaze, according to Upset Magazine.

Delgado explains: ‘It’s going to come out in the new year…We had some dates that were already kind of tentative. The label actually came in and, for the first time ever, they were like, ‘Hey, do you guys wanna just take your time, make it right, and then we’ll release it in the first of the year?’ And we were, like, ‘Wow! Yeah. That sounds great.’ His bandmate furthermore adds: ‘It’s being mixed now. It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They’re actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and… We’re mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles. We haven’t even got there yet, but the music’s done.’

So, changes for an early 2016 release of the new DEFTONES record look pretty good at the moment. We gonna keep you updated on this.
