Grizzly Bear hint on ‘more adventurous’ 5th album
The almighty GRIZZLY BEAR have started recording the follow-up album to 2012’s Shields. In a new interview with The Standard the band’s Ed Droste gave a little update on what to expect from it. ‘We’re feeling more adventurous with the sonic directions, changing it up a little bit — not like, a techno dance album … it’s in the beginning stages,’ he explains. He furthermore adds: ‘Only a couple songs have started to take shape and it’s gotta be like, a good dozen or so before we get the picture.’ So it might take a while before we can expect the new GRIZZLY BEAR record but be sure that we’re going to update you on the progress.
Girlpool unleash title-track off forthcoming debut LP
Buzzing Philadelphia lo-fi duo GIRLPOOL continue the teasing for their anticipated debut LP Before The World Was Big with the release of its title-track. Previously Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad already shared promising first tracks like Chinatown and Ideal World. And it looks like we can expect lovely lo-fi sweetness from the GIRLPOOL debut which arrives on June 1st via Wichita Recordings. Stream the new tune right here.
Caribous share music video for ‘Can’t Do Without You’
Although CARIBOU‘s catchy hit single Can’t Do Without You was already released last year it took Dan Snaith and his project to come up with a proper music video for it. Just in time for the beginning of spring 2015 the clip has appeared and it’s packed with plenty of feel-good vibes. You can follow a young kid and his mysterious but colourful fish friend on their journey below. Courtney Barnett premieres ‘Kim’s Caravan’ music video
Beloved Australian shootingstar COURTNEY BARNETT has unveiled a new music video for her song Kim’s Caravan. It’s taken off her recently released debut LP Sometimes I Sit and Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. According to NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s track-by-track talk with her it’s a ‘kind of epic, apocalyptic end-of-the-world song.’ That might explain the grey and slightly apocalyptic images in her new music video.
