Australian artist Sophia Exiner, aka PHIA, grew restless of studying classical and improvised piano at University and relocated to Berlin, the city of her ancestors, where she cycled from bar to bar in the creative mecca with her African kalimba and loop pedal in her bicycle basket. Aware she was retracing the footsteps of her family, she penned So Far, So Close, an homage to her adopted hometown and a reflection on her connection to the city her Jewish grandfather was forced to flee.

About to relocate back to Melbourne, Australia and off the back of a sold-out full band show at Privatclub, Berlin, PHIA is releasing So Far, So Close, the next song from her upcoming debut album, as ‘pay-what-you-want’. All proceeds up to Christmas are going to Give Something Back to Berlin, an organisation helping newly arrived migrants in Berlin.

So Far, So Close is premiering now here on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Make sure to listen to the song, grab a download and leave a donation for a good cause.
