Pixies release brand new song and video Bagboy

by

Pixies - BagboyTwo weeks after announcing the departure of bassist Kim Deal, the PIXIES are back with the brand new song Bagboy, their first one since 2004. Curiously enough the song sounds like it features the backing vocals of Deal, but it’s not. She left the band after she was touring with THE BREEDERS and the theatrical song cycle The Long Count she wrote together with her sister Kelley and THE NATIONAL members Aaron and Bryce Dessner.

The new bassist next to Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering is Kim Shattuck from THE MUFFS. And regarding the female vocals you can hear in the song PIXIES‘ frontman Black Francis stated: “I agree, it does sound a bit like Kim. But it’s my good friend Jeremy Dubs, one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure to know, both socially and professionally.“
The legendary indie rock band will tour the world starting in autumn and it’s said that there’ll be more official releases this year – beginning with the auspicious new single Bagboy that you can enjoy right here.
