Premiere: Swiss synth duo Odd Beholder makes a gentle return with ‘Coins’

Their second EP ‘Atlas’ arrives this April.

Lighting by Swiss dreampop two-piece ODD BEHOLDER has been one of our favourite debut releases of 2016, so you understand that we are more than happy to welcome Daniela Weinmann and James Varghese back with follow-up material. Coins is a first teaser off the band’s second EP Atlas which arrives on April 13 via Sinnbus, feauring five new songs.

‘We develop our songs out of the experiment into simplicity,’ explains the band their musical recipe and Coins is a perfect example for creating hypnotic delicacy while also spreading a gentle anti-capitalistic message without sounding too pretentious. When the money’s gone where does it go? Does it go to heaven?’ asks Mrs. Weinmann in the track, only to realize that ‘We have served it for too long.’

ODD BEHOLDER are back on tour with labelmates HUNDREDS and EINAR STRAY ORCHESTRA soon but will also head for their first solo tour soon, including a slot at Brighton’s acclaimed The Great Escape Festival. Find the tour dates between the world premiere of Coins.
