NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is looking forward to attending SPOT Festival 2013

The SPOT festival 2013 in Århus, Denmark. May 3-4. Over one hundred and forty bands. More than three hundred confirmed delegates. Two full day bus rides for us, one German and one Californian. Panels. Discussions. Films. Beers. NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is excited to be on our way to Denmark next Thursday, for a few days and nights of intense submersion into the Scandinavian music scene. We intend to do the dirty work for you. Our goal is to interact with as many musicians and bands so you don’t have to. Think of us like that little filter on your cigarettes: we take out the bad stuff so you only get a pure, unadulterated sonic joy.

The SPOT festival 2013 takes place in Århus, Denmark, an atmospheric port city with a huge university-age population. Started in 1994, the festival features bands at multiple venues, panels and lectures about topics relating to the music industry, and the opportunity for anyone with anything to do with music to network, glad hand, mingle, make connections, and use other cheap buzz words. Seriously, the festival has four main goals: “to focus on newer Danish and Nordic musicians, to bridge the gap between artistic ambition and the commercial potential of the music, to support and further the cultural qualities of the music, and to develop international networks through concerts and cultural and commercial experience.” That’s the long way of saying: supporting music, and showcasing music. By providing two jam-packed days of live shows, and opportunities where journalists, promoters, labels and managers can meet, SPOT aims to bring everybody under one roof and help everyone make friends.

You can officially start holding your breath as you wait for interviews, highlights, and full reports. NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION’s bus leaves Thursday morning and comes back Sunday, we promise to be nice, meet old friends and make new friends.
