It’s been 17 years since acclaimed shoegaze rock pioneers THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN release their last album Munki but things aren’t looking bad for a follow-up.
Jimi Reid told the NME: ‘We’ve got the material, we’ve talked about doing an album for so long now. We are kind of coming round to being in agreement, which is a bit weird for us. There will be an album — we will get it together. I’m more convinced now than I ever have been that there will be a new Mary Chain album.’
The band reformed a few years ago and is about so start a tour for the 30th anniversary of their debut album Psychocandy so an actual new record by THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN might still take a while but NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION will keep you updated on the progress.
