Being one of music business’ most busiest people it is no wonder that DAMON ALBARN is about to return with another new project. The legendary BLUR singer announced details of a new project between Western and African musicians. Back in October ALBARN took a bunch of musicians to Mali to record a record with African musicians there. The guestlist included BRIAN ENO, Nick Zinner from the YEAH YEAH YEAHS, HOLY OTHER, members of METRONOMY and DJANGO DJANGO and many more.
The result is called Africa Express Presents: Maison Des Jeunes and it will feature eleven tracks of this interesting musical alliance. The sampler is out on December the 9th with a physical release following in 2014. This really sounds more than interesting. You can listen to a first tune already today. Here comes Saoubour, a collaboration between Malian band SONGHOY BLUES and Nick Zinner.
