Daily Tune: DIANA escape reality in tender new music video ‘Moment Of Silence’

A hidden treasure from Toronto’s vital independent music scene awaits you.

by

Who is it?

DIANA is a synth-pop three-piece from Toronto with quite a lovely vita. Joseph Sabason is part of acclaimed indie outfit DESTROYER while lead singer Carmen Elle used to be in AUSTRA as well. Following their 2013 debut release they unveiled the follow-up Familiar Touch last year which will now also see an international physical release in August.

Why should you listen to it?

Moment Of Silence is not only a tender piece of dreamy indie pop with undeniable late 70s and early 80s references, it also comes with a beautifully shot music video from Kevan Funk. He describes the clip ‘as a portrait of one fish processing worker and her escape from reality’ which sums up the story pretty good. It’s an authentic, intimate but also powerful portrait of this lady, despite its melancholic core.

What’s next?

Familiar Touch is waiting for you to be streamed and it will hopefully help DIANA to get even more attention.

Everyday we’re adding NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION‘s Daily Tune to our ongoing Spotify playlist, packed with all the hidden treasures by those talented newcomers you need to know. Listen and follow right here.
