Sometimes a music video concept sounds so simple when you just write it down. ‘We shot high-speed footage of a mannequin dressed in black T-shirts and set them on fire.’ These words by director Rob Chiu sound not that spectacular when you just hear them. But when you see the actual result in form of the new DOUGLAS DARE music video Nile it’s far more impressive.
Slow and steady shots of a wild landscape, a girl on fire more or less and the gloomy music of Mr. DARE on top of it. That results in a great audiovisual journey. The praised songwriter released his wonderful debut album Whelmback in May via Erased Tapes and it’s highly recommendable. Same goes for the music video which you can watch right here via NOWNESS.
