Hundreds - Grab The Sunset

Context?

As you should know by now we from NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION are huge fans of Hamburg-based electro-pop siblings HUNDREDS and their sinister synthpop tunes that always seem to provide the right mixture between fragility and energy. Last year’s Aftermath was one of our favourite albums of 2013 and you should definitely check out our chat with charismatic singer Eva Milner. Now her and her brother Philip release Tame The Noise, a special acoustic EP with reworks of songs by the duo.

Why Should I Watch This?

Because it’s never too late to fall for these guys. Especially with such a lovely tune like Grab The Sunset. The original is taken off the band’s self-titled debut album from 2010 and is heading into a way groovier direction. This rework is driven by piano and surprises with an almost jazz-like interpretation of the source material. The video sees HUNDREDS performing the song at Studio Nord in Bremen where they also recorded the song.

Anything Else?

Tame The Noise was wade possible by the power of crowdfunding and the band was definitely more than surprised to find out that they collected all the needed money within 24 hours. That’s what you call a loyal fanbase, right? The new HUNDREDS EP arrives tomorrow in Europe via Sinnbus and in the US on June the 29th.
