Johnny Marr premieres music video for New Town Velocity

One of Manchester’s greatest, Mr. JOHNNY MARR, is paying tribute to his hometown with his latest music video New Town Velocity. The founding member of legendary formation THE SMITHS, discovers various places of the city in black and white.

It was directed by David Barnes and he based the concept on the Psychogeography philosophy of the Situationist Movement. If you’re familiar with it you might recognize a few things – if not you still get a quite atmospheric music video. The track is taken from JOHNNY MARR‘s first ever solo longplayer The Messenger which was released earlier in 2013.  Enjoy the video clip right here.
