Metric announce new LP ‘Pagans In Vegas’, share song ‘Cascades’
Canadian indie-pop band METRIC has detailedits anticipated new studio album and shared new material in the form of the song Cascades. The follow-up to the bands 2012 record Synthetica goes by the name Pagans In Vegas and is set for a release on September the 18th. Previously Emily Haines and her boys already unleashed The Shade as a first track off the new METRIC full-length. Listen to the slightly robotic Cascades right here.
Yo La Tengo announce new LP ‘Stuff Like That There’
Beloved American noise pop heroes YO LA TENGO announced details of the follow-up to their 2013 record Fade. Stuff Like That There mainly features cover versions of tracks by other artists like THE CURE, THE PARLIAMENTS and HANK WILLIAMS as well as a few re-works of older tracks by the band. It’s a bit like YO LA TENGO‘s 1990’s record Fakebook.
The band also shares two tracks from the album. Automatic Doom is a cover of THE SPECIAL PILLOWS, a former band by James McNew and Deeper Into Movies is a rework of the group’s I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One. The full album arrives on August 28 via Matador. Listen to the new songs below.

Charismatic Finnish pop darling JAAKKO EINO KALEVI has shared a new track off his upcoming self-titled studio album. Beirut announces new album ‘No, No, No’, shares title-track
Beloved globetrotter Zach Condon reports back with the first album of his alter ego BEIRUT in four years. The follow-up to 2011’s The Rip Tide goes by the simple name No, No, No and is said for a release via 4AD on September 11. The longplayer follows some hard times for the musician since Condon suffered physical and mental breakdown back in 2013 as well as a divorce. He states: ‘For the first time in my life, I was facing extreme self doubt. I had hit rock bottom.’

Scottish indie rock outfit WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS has shared a music video for A Part Ot It, the latest single off their latest longplayer Unravelling. It continues the video trilogy that started with the clips Keep It Composed and Peaks & Troughs a while ago. WE WERE PROMISED JETPACKS on the idea: ‘The videos hopefully capture some of the themes that we tried to portray in our album.
