Context?
Yesterday, American rap whirlwind TYLER, THE CREATOR announced the release of his new album Cherry Bomb. He didn’t went ‘full Beyoncé’ and immediately released the record as he gave us a few days warning. The follow-up to 2013’s Wolf arrives next Monday, on April 13 and we’re can expect a lot of madness from the Odd Future mastermind on it. With the LP announcement itself also came a new music video for the track Fucking Young and this one definitely deserves a bit more attention.
Why Should I Watch This?
Jesus, where shall we start? It’s six and half minutes of pure TYLER craziness. Expect bizarre settings (and quick changes between them), colourful images and a lot of comic relief. But overall the clip documents the breakdown of a relationship between the rapper and a young lady… well, she turns out to be too young in the end. It starts with a ‘love at first sight’-meeting at the backyard pool, romantic dates in a psychedelic field of giant sunflowers and the inevitable introduction to the family of the girl. In the end we’re left in the desert, ready to blow up things with the protagonist. And that explanation is just the tip of the iceberg.

TYLER, THE CREATOR directed the video by himself under his moniker Wolf Haley and he really got a distinctive style, you must say. Charlie Wilson, Chaz Bundick aka TORO Y MOI and Cole Alexander are also involved in the new tune which really explains it quite soulful touch. Thank god, the Cherry Bomb is about to drop really soon, right?
