We’ve been fans of German siblings Philipp and Eva Milner and their project HUNDREDS for a few years now. November the 4th will see the release of the duo’s third full-length, distinctively titled Wilderness. The record takes the cinematic approach of the Milners to the next level, once again combining dark soundscapes with eclectic electronica, clever lyrics and partly even catchy pop-songs. It takes their musical ideas into even abstracter and more confident territories than 2014’s already quite satisfying Aftermath.
Various influences are sensible in the sound of HUNDREDS and that’s only one reason why we asked Philipp and Eva to compile a lot of them in the form of an exclusive playlist. Strong and charismatic female vocal performances are an obvious choice here, so it might not surprise you that artists like BJÖRK, FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, THE KNIFE or LYYKE LI found its way into the selection they compiled for NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Expect a journey through their favourite tunes, through all different sorts of genres, decades and artists, from RADIOHEAD to KANYE WEST.
