Remember when beloved singer/songwriter Antony Hegarty announced his new record HOPELESSNESS under the name ANOHNI? We haven’t heard much from it all over 2015 but now the mastermind behind ANTONY AND THE JOHNSONS gave an update on its progress in the form of an interview with his own message board.
Hegarty promises that the record, which was partly produced by ONEOTHRIX POINT NEVER and HUDSON MOHAWKE, will be out next spring. He also explains what to expect from it by saying: ‘The record is as different as could be from my previous work. I am not sure that many of you who prefer the early chamber music style will enjoy it! It is a dance / experimental electronic record with quite a dark thematic undertow. It is an album I felt very compelled to produce.’
He furthermore teases a ‘very unconventional’ live show as well as a series of music videos, accompanying the whole ANOHNI release. NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION will keep you updated on the whole HOPELESSNESS process.
