Ethan Kath shares new Crystal Castles track ‘Frail,’ seems still pissed of Alice Glass’ departure

Crystal Castles - Frail

Last autumn singer Alice Glass announced her departure from noise/electronic duo CRYSTAL CASTLES, leaving her former partner Ethan Kath with an uncertain future. It was unsure whether the project would continue but now it looks like Kath isn’t done yet. He uploaded a previously unreleased song called Frail to the band’s Soundcloud account, accompanied by the following message.

i wish my former vocalist the best of luck in her future endeavors. i think it can be empowering for her to be in charge of her own project. it should be rewarding for her considering she didn’t appear on Crystal Castles’ best known songs. (she’s not on Untrust Us. Not In Love, Vanished, Crimewave, Vietnam, Magic Spells, Knights, Air War, Leni, Lovers Who Uncover, Violent Youth, Reckless, Year of Silence, Intimate, 1991, Good Time, Violent Dreams etc.). people often gave her credit for my lyrics and that was fine, i didn’t care.

Well, that still sound’s a bit bitter, right? No words yet if this is a brand new CRYSTAL CASTLES tune or just one from the archives. We keep you updated on more news. Stream Frail right here.

Ariel_Pink-9.7.2014

There’s a new music video from ARIEL PINK and it’s another unsurprisingly crazy adventure. The clip for Jell-O features PINK and his friends making jello shots. It also comes with psychedelic images from the mead industry, it seems. The song is taken off last year’s Pom Pom record. As always, feel happily invited to find your own interpretation right here.

Exciting news concerning indie rock heroes EDITORS: Apparently, a new song has arrived. It goes by the title No Harm and is part of a sampler compiled by the influential label Play It Again Sam, the label with which EDITORS also work. It’s hidden as a bonus track but it’s there and it sounds quite satisfying. If it has any worth of pointing the direction for future EDITORS-material remains to be seen. All we know for sure by now is that the guys have been working on a new album, a.o. with SLOWDIVE-singer Rachel Goswell and that the recording process is done. So should be the mixing by now. It’s not unlikely that we listen to an official new EDITORS song right here.
