Danish power woman Jenny Rossander and her alter ego Lydmor is a long time favourite of ours, especially due to her collaborative work with WhoMadeWho member Tomas Høffding aka Bon Homme. But obviously, it’s time for her to step into the limelight again, almost three years after her last solo LP called Y.
Today, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is happy to debut Helium High, a brand new solo single by Lydmor and a first teaser of a potentia new full-length release in 2018. It’s a floating but also powerful piece of inspiring electropop that also comes with an important message. According to the singer the track is about a topic she hasn’t written so much about before. It’s about being a woman.
‘I need to show a version of femininity that we rarely see. The female anger and the female authority are deeply under-represented in modern society and therefore it may be obvious to forget what it looks like. It is much easier for a heterosexual man to ‘demand respect’ than for women or other sexualities. But I think we internationally see that this is changing. And we are angry. And we take control.“
