Bella Gaia 2014

Cosmic world music ensemble BELLA GAIA will release their debut album Beautiful Earth on November 11th. The album was created in conjunction with NASA and the band played more than 200 shows at such venues as the UNESCO Headquarters and the US State Department for Barack Obama’s Cairo Initiative. Even before the release of that debut album the band has already become world renowned for mesmerizing audio-visual live performances. Now NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION premieres Orbital, BELLA GAIA‘s new single.

When composer and director Kenji Williams met astronaut Mike Fincke and learned about the transformative Overview Effect Fincke experienced while viewing Earth from the window of the space station, BELLA GAIA was born. A bridger of music, visual arts, and science, Williams has won international awards from The Canadian Society of Cinematographers, The Sundance Film Festival, and most recently The Macau International Fulldome Film Festival for Best Soundtrack. Williams is joined by an all-star cast of musicians on the new album, including Sound Healing artist Kristin Hoffmann (as seen sharing stages with THE WALLFLOWERS, FEIST, and BRANDI CARLILE), tabla master Deep Singh (one of the senior most guru-brothers of Ustad Zakir Hussain), and Japanese koto player Yumi Kurosawa (who has toured internationally with countless symphony orchestras).

Dive deep into the space and enjoy Orbital.
