House By The Lake - 'Dark Horse

Contradictions can be a strong creative force. We all have to face and endure the fact that the world is never black and white but colourful – simultaneously bad and good. We tend to glorify the past though, especially the time of being a child; forgetting about all the moments of fear and uncertainty, we stress how happy we were back then. In a nostalgic, happy/sad trip down the memory lane the Norwegian folk outfit HOUSE BY THE LAKE reflect on this contradiction in a new video. It visualizes their most recent single Dark Horse and we got the clip premiering right here on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION.

While the beautiful but melancholic tune represents the bleak perspective, we follow singer Sondre Strandskog Arnesen’s super 8 visualization of a happy childhood. It’s a thoughtful and effective coupling from HOUSE BY THE LAKE. The band has been around in one form or the other for six years now and their newest album Woodlands is about to be released on March the 20th. Something to look forward to if we look at this most recent taste of it.
