Copenhagen-based four-piece BLAUE BLUME have always known each other and have always played together. Over the last months the band got quite a buzz, so NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION sat down with Jonas Smith (singer) to find out more about the Danish guys. Also they’ll be a part of Berlin’s Midsommar Festival. So what do we have to know about Midsommar? BLAUE BLUME‘s answer doesn’t give much insight. Still: let us introduce you to the Danish band who also played this year’s SPOT Festival.
Tell us something about Midsommar no one outside of Scandinavia knows.
We actually burn women accused of witchery. It’s not a game.
How would you describe your music to a deaf person?
By the use of colors.
Would you rather be a dragon or have a dragon?
Definitely BE a dragon.
If you’re music would be a film how would you describe it? What genre? What actors? Any surprising plot twists?
Nicolas Cage will have his comeback in this slightly more action packed than you’d expect movie about Blaue Blume. His neurotic and overdone way of doing all his parts would be very appropriate for the story about us.
If you could have alternative jobs – what would it be?
Neurosurgeons.
Would you rather whisper or shout for the rest of your life?
Shout. I guess if you could embrace being that person you could enjoy it very much. Would be great to have an excuse for shouting at every occasion.
If you’d have to choose: which of your senses would you rather lose?
Touch. That one seems to the one most interesting to have explained by others.
The music & culture industry is currently about to redefine itself. Do you feel like being completely and utterly at the its mercy, or should things be seen as a chance for artists?
Definitely an opportunity. The artist is never at the mercy of the industry. The artist comes first. No artist, no industry.
