PARIS XY started developing their unique sound in March 2012. Alice Smith (Miss Smith) and James Orvis combine traditional elements such as vocal and guitar with live analogue synths, drum machines and pre-sampled atmospheric soundscapes. Lyricism is in the main, taking influence from the likes of JOY DIVISION, RADIOHEAD, Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Browning. The production shows Scandinavian and eastern European roots such as TRENTEMØLLER, GUS GUS and THE KNIFE. With their latest single The Return, which is named Sound of the Night, PARIS XY prove to be the perfect symbiosis of exactly those three acts. Dark as TRENTEMØLLER, dancy as GUS GUS and strange like THE KNIFE. And so comes the Sound of the Night – or should we say the electronic perfection of the night?
