Asbjorn - Press 2014

During the past year, at regular intervals, Danish artist ASBJØRN released new videos of his Pseudo Visions series. One year, eight singles, two EPs. Now it’s time for him to play Eurosonic Noorderslag to go the next step and to convince the crowd with his catchy electronic pop music. He’s a familiar face on that page, you should know this by now. He even wrote a very interesting piece about the change of gender roles in these modern days. Eclectic and eccentric – the young Dane got his own vision of pop music, one that combines dance, music and artistic representation in a coherent way. The Pseudo Visions series will result in his long awaited second album this spring. And it was about time for that record.

Reaching for the top

Back in 2012 NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION met ASBJØRN at Denmark’s SPOT Festival. Since then we follow the Danish pop artist, who recently moved to Berlin. Without any doubt a lot of things happened since then. With his show at Eurosonic Noorderslag he now will – finally – enter new fields. So far ASBJØRN focussed mainly on touring Scandinavia and Germany. But his music is definitely more international. Surely still a little too Scandinavian and experimental for the international break through, but with his only 22 years the young singer seems to be on the right way to the top.

The top is what ASBJØRN is reaching for. His show at Eurosonic Noorderslag could be an initial show on his way to get there. As one of our hot tips at the festival we recommend to keep an eye on him.

Eurosonic Noorderslag is the key exchange and networking platform for European music, with a proven track record for helping new acts to establish themselves in other countries. The event will take place from January 14 to 17.

NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION will report once again from the event. Read all future coverage right here.
