‘Knock knock!’
‘Who is it?’
‘It’s me, summer, remember me?’
Horror story. After being used to wear all the clothes in the world, because… cold (duh!), we’re supposed to take it all off, shake it off and go to the nearest beach/lake to enjoy the summer. Easy for the guys, as recent ‘study’ proved that flabby wins the worked out abby. Women are buying well-being magazines like crazies and try to follow a modest regime.
Bullshit!
Women, we’re talking to you. It’s ok, if you want to detox/lose that 2 pounds that are stuck on your thighs. It’s more than ok if you feel like training your body, because that’s good for you and for your soul. But let’s just not freak out about all these. No. Just. Don’t. Embrace your bodies, whether your a curvy bombshell or a skinny princess! Summer is here and it’s time for all of us to celebrate! Put on what make you feel gorgeous.
All this talking is to introduce you to SAGE LAROCK, a fashion brand from Los Angeles that’s created to offer women a modern image of luxury. Brands’ CEO, model turned designer Taryn Sage Larock wrote me that they’re making ‘clothing that is naturally beautiful both inside & out, that looks and feels fantastic, but also is produced in a conscientious manner’. These dresses are the best dressing solution for this summer. Minimal yet glamorous, they let you be the diva of your dreams!
In her own words:
We create our clothing entirely from sustainable, recycled or organic materials and produce ethically and locally in Los Angeles, using non-toxic and plant based dyes and all items are either hand dyed with plant based dyes or dyed with low-impact colors in our lab which is partially solar powered. We create limited edition pieces that transition with ease from day to night and can be worn season after season. We strive to create clothing that is stylish and high quality, rather that trend driven ‘fast fashion’.
When I started the brand, I realized there is a fundamental problem with the way almost all clothing manufacturers are producing their garments and a real disconnect between consumers and what went into the garment that they wear. I therefore decided to reconcile my love of of pretty dresses with my love of nature and the earth. I didn’t want to have to choose between one or the other and I don’t think anyone else should have to either.
I believe that sustainability does not have to be sacrificed for for style and that rivers don’t have to be polluted and workers don’t have to be exploited so we can make pretty dresses. I wish to prove that doing things the right way is beautiful and I want to work to change the world, but want to help women look and feel gorgeous while doing it.
A few words about SAGE LAROCK’s iron lady, Taryn. After have travelled around the United States and Europe for her modelling career, she decided to study philosophy. But of course, a restless spirit like Taryn didn’t stop there. She attended the Otis College of Art & Design in San Fransisco to later on train on eco-fashion next to Linda Loudermilk. Here, at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION, we give at Ms Sage Larock our respect and appreciation badge for being so inspiring and obviously driven by her hopes and passions!
But enough with the talking – let’s have a look at these SAGE LAROCK creations that are celebrating the woman body!
